Jason Mosher literally grew up in the claims business. His parents started their insurance claims business early in 1981 and Jason and his older sister and younger brother worked at every conceivable task for the business in their spare time and summers. Jason is no stranger to sweeping the parking lot, emptying the trash and cleaning toilets. As his skills grew, he easily transferred into handling claims and after college began his career full time.

The claims handling portion of the family business was dormant while the company concentrated on Mosher Administrative. Jason felt after a time that he would revive the Mosher Adjusting name on his own and follow his own path. The first six months in his own business found Jason armed with just determination and his cell phone scrambling for a foothold in the competitive world of the independent adjuster. After six months he was able to add an employee and now the Mosher Adjusting organization has offices in three states besides Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; San Diego, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jason feels that even though currently claims are at an all-time low volume he has the advantage of being a young man who has nothing but time to grow the business. His family, wife Melinda of nine years who is expecting their fourth child and the boys, Austin, Aidan and Adam are his joy and inspiration. Melinda was a claims adjuster who now handles the accounting for Mosher Adjusting from her home office. The goal of Mosher Adjusting is to merge the company with Mosher Administrative and ultimately to offer non-standard auto and trucking insurance as a new insurance carrier.

The state of the insurance industry is one that Jason studies carefully and notes the relationship of the insurance agent’s loss ration with the education they provide to their customers. With the increased volume of new homes in the area, Jason believes that the decreased volume of small claims will be offset by the inevitable large losses.

When Jason’s dad was starting his business the AICA was a central part of education and networking for the insurance community, so when it was revived, Jason had no doubt that he would want to be a part of it. He is in line to take the helm as the president for 2006 and has strong opinions of how to direct the organization toward even greater educational opportunities and the goal of putting a human face on the relationships that have been conducted with increasing frequency through Email.

The AICA golf tournament has been under Jason’s care and guidance and is a major source of fundraising for the organization. Last year’s PLRB regional conference included a golf tournament and Jason is proud that the AICA provided the time and muscle to accommodate 115 golfers from all over the country. The conference golfers were registered mostly as singles, which provided an excellent opportunity for people from other areas to get to know one another.

This year’s AICA golf tournament is October 28th at Stone Creek GC in Phoenix and a percentage of the proceeds will go to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina while they continue to support the association’s scholarship and homeless shelter programs. There are twenty sponsors currently on board and they expect to sell out the foursomes. Lunch will follow the golf tournament with raffle and door prizes.
