Angie Janofsky may be the blur you saw passing by on her way to adjust a personal injury claim or to volunteer for one of her two sons' activities or helping to run the family fish farming business. In addition to all of these activities she found the time to run for the Mark Twain Elementary Union District school board. She was third in a race for two seats on the board but feels that the jobs were filled by competent and experienced people and that result was her only reason to run in the first place. She won't be running for any position again soon because of the toll on her family. She has been active with the Mid Valley Claims Association as this year's treasurer. She's happy to be working for Bob Smoke's office, which allows her the flexibility to do other things that are as important to her as her job.
Angie is the coordinator for the 6th grade science camp for her son’s school and heads the drive to collect Cartridges for Kids that involves collecting empty and undamaged inkjet and toner cartridges; laptops and cellular phones to benefit the school and has the capability to raise between $2,000 and $10,000. She is organizing car washes as well to come up with the $11,000 needed for the science students to be able to attend the science camp. One of her sons will be eligible to go next year when he is in 6th grade so Angie views her efforts as an investment in his keen interest in science.
She and her husband are also very proud of their 16- year old son who is very bright as well. Both boys help with the family fish farming business that grew out of finding a use for their 52 acres in Copperopolis with almost half of the acreage under water. Their commercial fish ranch provides stock for Lake Amador for trophy fish derbies but they also raise catfish commercially and mosquito fish for Amador County mosquito abatement programs.
Angie started as a SFPD officer and found the job didn't fit with who she was. After leaving the San Francisco PD she worked for CSAA for 10 years in both San Franciso and Stockton. Personal injury claims handling became her expertise and now working for RB Smoke and Associates, she finds the time she needs to devote to her other interests as well as the job she loves.
